Scattered snow showers

21st March 2017

Strong winds and snow showers today with a significant wind chill effect on exposed skin. Poor visibility – so not many photo opportunities. New snow settling from around 600 metres. The patchy old snow is very firm underfoot. Limited accumulations of new snow in very sheltered locations only. Weather forecast is now indicating that high pressure will become established bringing settled conditions and lighter winds.

Poor viz today. Light general cover of snow with some drifting.
