A wild morning

8th March 2017

It was a poor morning but cleared up after lunch. There was a good amount of new snowfall with plenty of drifting leading to an improved snow cover but deep unstable windslab in places.

Snow fell through until late morning.

Any sheltered features had new snow accumulations.

Stability was poor in fresh storm cycle snow.

Deep new deposits on a more open aspect. There was very little here 48 hours ago.

Significant drifting into N to E facing corries.

Aspects exposed to the wind were being scoured.
