Nice Winter we’re having this Spring.

31st March 2015

A wild day today, plenty snow blowing around in the strong winds. Although it was snowing down to the valley, it was thawing at lower levels. It was a reminder that those heading to the hills over Easter need full winter kit. There are certainly ski touring options out of Glenshee Ski Centre, East aspects holding most snow.

Surface instabilities were very obvious when on the hill (bit of a challenge to photograph)! Mostly on NE/E aspects.

Guess the windy aspect?

Guess the windy aspect?

W aspects facing the winds, very thin moist snow but the patchy older snow was very hard and icy.

Happy to be back in Winter!
