Avalanche spotting.

13th March 2008

After yesterdays ‘drifting fest’ we went of to look at likely avalanche sites. The East face of Glas Maol didn’t dissappoint.

The East Face of Glas Maol. The slide path was not too long, but it was 450 metres wide. It’s possible the avalanche (on the far side of the pic) went over the cliffs.
Grampian Police Team Member and search dog Midge making their way through the debris.

Very pleased they don’t need to search that lot!
Team members reported seeing little debis in Sputen Dearg but there was plenty windslab.
