Wet and windy

3rd February 2008

It was another wet and windy day with very little viz above 900 metres. Not really any new snow higher up when we were out. Looks like it’ll get colder tomorrow but not sure about later this week.

Sam tied in to her mobile belays.

The cover is not bad, in fact there are a lot of deep areas so the snow is still quite cool within itself. Some of the weaker layers have survived overnight as well.

Plenty skiers at Glenshee today although wet the winds looked like they had hampered the higher lifts opening.

Aberdeen MRT were around today practising their winter/avalanche skills and had a sensible choice of corrie well out the wind. Not like us!
