Snowtime

20th March 2007

Well we certainly had plenty of snow in the past 48 hours. The hard part has been getting to it. The Glenshee road was opened today, I’m not sure about minor roads at the moment. Snow cover on the hill is either thin where it has been exposed to the wind or deep if there is any shelter. All the soft stuff is generally unstable. We’ve not seen any evidence of avalanche activity yet but hopefully we’ll come accross some soon.
The rivers are trying to freeze up although there will be a jump in the freezing level tomorrow hopefully it’ll drop again, perhaps we’ll see some reasonable climbing soon?
