Looking good!

1st January 2007

First up – happy new year to you!
definitely feels like winter up there now. Those of you up early will have enjoyed some brief blue skies before the showers set in. Generally visibility was poor, it snowed and was windy – perfect! If the amount of wind coming through our doors on our house are anything to go by, last night was windy! Overnight, both Cairnwell and Cairngorm stations had gusts inexcess of 100mph. Anything that was sheltered from the winds has snow in it, deep in places. Some gully exits would best be avoided.
The snow has insulated the ground, occasionally you go ice through into water/bog. It looks like snow is sticking to rocks so hopefully we’ll have some climbing soon.
If your keen and have old skis you could…………But perhaps best waiting yet.

Paul
